I Need Some Help with a Liedtext/Liberetto

So, I have been commissioned to compose a 3-6 minute piece and write the lyrics for it.

The piece will be for a youg women's recital. Three choirs (elementary age, middle-school age and high school age). It will be at Christmas time and I was told to use "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" as inspiration.

So rather than re-arrange that peice and write words for it as was suggested, I decided tk compose a new piece. Composition is the easy part.

What I need help with is not the actual lyrics, but what they will be about. I have called the peice „Das Eisesfest der Winterfeen” ("The Ice-Festival of the Winter Faries"). I will be writing their version in English.

Beyond the basic idea of this ice-festival of winter faries, I have no idea what to write, lyrically.

Any suggestions for more specific themes?
