I know there are quite a few people here that play, and I've been wondering what you sound like. So, if you play an instrument and have something recorded, post up your best work (if possible).

someonecompletelyrandom 09-06-2012 12:45 PM

Always the first one to promote myself.

Plankton 09-06-2012 12:54 PM

Sounds pretty cool. I take it you programmed the drums, and played the keys and guits?

Frownland 09-06-2012 12:57 PM

Here's mine: Discovering That Escape Is Impossible - Wolves In Sheepskin
One of our better raw takes.

EDIT: That's a good track, Conan. I dig the jumpiness of it in the beginning.

Nice! That was live?

Correct, but I did some of the drumming myself with a digital set.

Thanks. Diggin ya'll's track myself. I used to listen to this kind of stuff all the time. You have an album out?

Burning Down 09-06-2012 01:14 PM

Well these are definitely not my very best work but I'm not ashamed of them either. Please excuse the mistakes :(

Concerto in G Major - Pergolesi

Andante from Piano Sonata No. 1 in C Major - Mozart (I'm thinking of redoing this one)

Super Mario Brothers Theme. Just for fun.

I have a lot more flute ones and also some guitar ones but I won't spam up the thread just yet. :D

Very talented! ...and the Mario one was a nice touch.

Plankton 09-06-2012 01:41 PM

Ok since I started it, I guess I'll throw one out there.

Did this one quite a few years ago, and since it's the right month...

Thanks yourself. We don't have a specific album out, persay, but we do have a couple hundred of untitled tracks that we need to sift through and I'm sure that we can make a few albums out of that.

*bump*

Anyone else?

I'll put my stuff up soon. I think most people have heard much of my newer stuff though. I haven't put anything out lately either.

I know some of you have heard some of my music before. Here is a newer piece I've been working on. As always, the recording quality isn't that good. Just using the mic on my iPad.

Let me know what you think

Hey that's pretty nifty! It's like a really disjointed, nightmarish funeral with an old Scottish bagpipe theme fluttering in and out of reality, while a voice beyond the grave tries to speak an urgent message, except it's all happening on some obscure video someone found in some dark corner of the internet, distorted, but somehow using the frequency distortions and glitches to try and crawl its way out of the medium it's trapped in and somehow get past the screen, the speakers, and to free itself into the world.
It's a nightmare, trapped in technology, torturing itself in endless loops, simply trying to escape.

I'm not even high.

someonecompletelyrandom 09-12-2012 10:44 PM

^Drat. I'll have to listen to yours when I'm not mobile, Plank.

Here's a demo I did using my iPhone. Rushed it along yesterday afternoon, sorry if the vocals are hard to make out.

Pretty good for an iPhone. I've used my Crapberry for vocals on a few things, and didn't get anywhere near that quality.

blastingas10 09-14-2012 10:34 AM

I'm digging it, conan. Id just like to be able to hear the vocals better.

Yeah, I made the mistake of recording backup for the second first on a track I used for lead vocals on the first, so I can't really mess with the volume or it sounds even wonkier. I think I like it enough to do a proper recording though.

The app I used has some nice noise gates that took out a bit of the hissing. I was once friends with a woman who had a band that recorded everything on iPhones, and the sound quality really wasn't bad at all.

Never heard any of your stuff and I must say im impressed. I havent recorded anything in a long while but ill post some old stuff. Done on a cheap laptop and cheezy mic. The guitar work was done on a Ibanez acoustic. I purchased my dream guitar bout a year ago but havent gotten around to laying anything down with it yet. Im not even on here much anymore, but ill see if I can find time to belt out some new material. Anyway good job man, I like your work!!

Thanks, blooz. I'm at work now but I'll definitely give it a listen when I get the chance.

I started a thread for my own music a while back, but I'm glad to see someone start one with the intention of getting all members to showcase some of their music. It seems to be working, Im glad to see some of you posting some music.

Nice work Blooz.

Speaking of Blooz... funny, I posted this one on a guitar site, and titled the thread "Some Blooz", and it's pretty much some "Experimental" blues too. How bizzare is that?

Just got a chance to listen to it, sounds good, man. Makes me wanna get back in touch with my blues side. That's where I started but as I started writing my own music I can kind of moved away from it without even trying to.

Maybe we can do some online jamming sometime. Let me know if you're interested.
