I like to challenge myself and go in a new direction for each project I undertake.
https://soundcloud.com/daydream-society/track The title on Soundcloud is going to be the name of the album rather than the track. The name of the track out of context would have made very little sense.

Well, since no one seems to appreciate the structured studio recorded songs I post here from the band, here's some ambient improv:

I can spend 30 hours on a complex rock song and be ignored or I can spend an hour and a half making some experimental ambient and at least have a few people think it's cool.

Or you can spend several hours composing a super experimental piece and get ignored.

Shock! Horror! Trollheart makes music! Sort of...
Okay, time for a confession. Back in about the mid-90s I think it was I decided to buy myself a synthesiser. Not surprisingly, I was crap at it. Well, I wasn't terrible, but I have a bad memory and so could not remember the notes or chords to the songs I learned. But luckily the thing had a built-in sequencer of sorts, so I was able to fiddle with that and write some "music", to use the term very loosely. Nobody else has heard this (well, one or two people literally) but I'd like to share it with you. It's essentially one track broken up into parts which I made into an album. The music follows the same basic melody all through so it will be best if you listen to it all together rather than picking tracks. I mean, you can do that, but my exceptionally limited editing skills means that tracks don't exactly end well, but if you leave the whole thing to run it flows reasonably well. I an under no illusions that I am a musician, or would ever be one. So nobody thinks I'm claiming to be something I'm not, you should know that the accompaniments here were inbuilt into the keyboard, so all I had to do was choose the chords. Similarly, the drum patterns are part of those accompaniments, so I didn't write them or anything like that. The melody however and the structure is all mine. I'd be interested in any feedback. Remember I'm a total amateur, even less than that, and this was recorded nearly twenty years ago now. Sure if nothing else it'll be a chance for those of you to get your own back whose music I slagged off (cough) Frownland (cough)! No, I don't expect anyone to think it's good but I'd still be interested in opinions. It's nothing close to anything you guys would do: you'll hear bum notes (especially on the piano) all over the place, and some of the chords may clash, but I think generally it works reasonably ok. It just started as a long song and I kept adding bits to it, making it longer, which is why I ended up splitting it and calling it an album. Anyhoo, be kind but be honest. Let me know what you think. Thanks guys TH https://soundcloud.com/trollheart

Troll, really nice. My only slag would be that all the tracks sounds too alike.
(I didn't listen to it all - kind skimmed across each of the songs) Reminds me of mid to late 80s movie soundtrack music. You know, the scene where Molly Ringwald finally gets to kiss the guy?

Odd project I started a while ago but my production laptop blew up and I lost all of my software / project files.
https://soundcloud.com/dr1v3guy/julyfifteen Wish I could have finished it but I sort of like going back and imagining the many ways it could have gone. Losing work to tech failures is the worst.

I save all my tracks to an external hard drive. That way, when/if my recording PC craps out, nothing is lost. It also helps that I can work on my tracks from any computer with the same software. The HD also gets backed up... which I need to do.
