I finished this track today:

https://soundcloud.com/micshazam/05-small-town-town10it

When I say finished, I mean to say that I think I'm done tinkering with it, but I always end up feeling dissatisfied with several details, so it's really a question of when I move on to something else and stop going back to nitpick.

It took me forever to find a progression that seemed to work. It's really a set of glued together ideas that at first didn't sit well together.

Not sure it's actually good, since I can never be even remotely impartial and clear minded about my music when I've just spent days immersed in working on it.

ANY feedback would be mightily appreciated.

If you don't feel completely satisfied with it it might help if you take a break from this and go work on something else then come back to it with a fresher mind. Sometimes working on a track for too long can drain the passion out or kind of fatigues the mind if that makes sense. After a while everything just starts feeling stale but after leaving and coming back it usually helps.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.
