For those that are interested in what I was doing with my ##### and Psychephilia projects. Here you go. A compilation of tracks that I was able to find in order to make such a thing. I worked on those projects a while ago now. Enjoy!

I'll get on your album soon, but probably not today. Got a busy day ahead of me.

Hey Lucem, you happen to have anything that sounds like old school 80's or 90's hip hop?

You have to be more specific.

Sampled break beats or 808s and synths?

Boombap eastcoast, G-funk west coast or memphis pre-trap.

Finally did a song that Myke had a positive review of.

Oh I guess anything that sounds less contemporary, but especially if you have something brighter + more old school.

Tfw you finally have an excuse to post a specific band's music

I made a new album. Part of the "Creative Suicide" series, which is my way of saying that it's a mess.

As a bonus, it has vomit inducing cover artwork!

^^^I really wanna play guitar over some of that. Like at the end of that first track, it reminded me a bit of a riff from somewhere I can't seem to remember. Really well produced though, from what I'm hearing as I skim through a bit of it. I'm just not really into the 8 bit stuff (I think that's what it is??). It's lacking warmth and dynamics, I guess you could say. If this was part of a video game, like Solstice maybe, oh ****... I'd have been all over it. Your abilities are not lost though. The song structures and your use of whats available show your true talent. Really liking the tune that starts at around 9:30... I'm still listening and typing... I'm really liking this.

It's what you're used to, and you make it work. That's some praise-worthy **** my friend.

Thanks a bunch Plank!

I'm glad you find something to appreciate about it. It's true that it's got a relatively cold sound. It's written in software that traces a line back to the sort of software that Amiga music was usually written in. The samples are often home-made though, through an old Adlib music program. It's a sound I'm so closely tied to that I can't possibly imagine what anyone else than me will hear it like. To me, it's as familiar and taken-for-granted as the air I breathe.

If you wanna shred on something, I put all of my music files in publicly available Google drive folders. Here's the link for the .it and .mp3 files for this particular album.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SH...V1qBNjqrnjZl2U

Make sure to throw it my way if you make anything!

I might also re-upload the album some time this christmas. I've found a few sequences I'd like to change a tiny bit. My first wrap-up of an album NEVER manages to be the final one.

Plankton 12-22-2018 08:46 AM

hmmm... I just might. I'll post up if I do.

MicShazam 12-22-2018 08:51 AM

I also haven't forgotten that I said I'd listen to your album. I just have a backlog of things I said I'd do and things I need to reply to. I've got an actual list

Plankton 12-22-2018 10:31 AM

Eh, no problem dude. It's just a bunch of guitar noodling.

MicShazam 12-22-2018 12:16 PM

I like guitar noodling.

And I did listen to the first half a while ago.

The first track was fire, that's all I remember right now.

Unitron 12-22-2018 04:49 PM

Sounds really good Mic, I love that first track. Reminds me a lot of Kraftwerk in some parts actually, and I'm curious to know if you like them or not?

Key 12-22-2018 07:49 PM

this one was fun to make.

https://soundcloud.com/rbaccetti/explore-the-universe

also i want to use that in a track as well, mic. it'd be kind of fun.

Thanks!

And I'm afraid I don't know a lot about Kraftwerk. I have some vague idea what they do and that they're important, but I think I must have listened to like one track of theirs ever. If they have music video where the beat is synced with things passing by a train, then that's the one I've heard. That describes my level of familiarity

Was it this one?

That sound that starts around 0.47 is what reminds me of this Kraftwerk song in particular:

Wouldn't it be cool if all of MB came together and made a total cluster**** of an album?

Not that I have any idea how, but the idea speaks to me.

People who don't write music could even contribute, with artwork, lyrics and vocals!

It would be the best-worst thing ever!

Key 01-03-2019 08:42 PM

Id be all up for it.
