Even more impressive. You don't know any modes or scales yet you still can come up with something like that. Very well done. Do you know what chords you're using or you just wing all your chordal work as well?

This is awesome. I'm not sure how you mix your material whether you use something like Pro Tools or Sibelius but this cannot be Audacity.

How did you mix your material?
What kind of Equipment do you use?
Have you tried getting signed before?
What instrument and amp do you use?

Can you give me advice on my song?

My thread is:

I'm a new member so if anyone has asked you about this let me know. Some books I know that are good are from Musician's Institute especially their Guitar Lictionary.

Thanks

I know what chords I'm playing, just never got into modes, theory and all. I remember quite a few years ago barely touching on Ionian/Mixolidian, and all the other -ians but that's as far as I got. It all seemed too catagoric for me. Basically I learned what/how to play through the "Brute Force" method.

PRS through ZoomGFX8 to M-Audio interface to PC Audacity (at the time I recorded those).

Nope. Too much BS. I just play for fun. I'm all about keeping it free, but if people want to throw money at me I won't turn it down.

For live situations (bands I've been in) I use a crappy Line 6 stack (half of which is a 4x12 90's Crate) with the Zoom GFX8 (which has since been substituted for a Line 6 HD500 since I dropped it a couple weeks back), and Schecter and PRS guitars.

I'll pop in and see what I can do.

Here's an older pic of my home setup (sans PRS and HD500) I just found, for a visual:

I know next to nothing about instrumentation, but I know what I like, and I quite enjoyed this. Each track really does have something to say. The sound effects are nice, too! Drew me right in.

Good work, Plankton. Every song is at least good, if not great.

My only real critique is I think you should focus more on the beat. All of it is sampled besides the guitar, so do something different. Mix it up. Give us 7/8 time, or a clattering, broken beat, or unusual samples.

So yeah, your guitar parts were fanfreakingtastic, even if the beats behind them were unimpressive at best and plain boring at worst. Good job overall, though.

Thanks Blarobbarg. Yes, the dreaded drums... and lack of bass too.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. You need that. Even sampled bass or some kind of synthesizer bass would be better than no bass.
