Dirty Curt - Built To Be Filthy
First off, let me request that a mod close the "Dirty's Lyrics and Songs" thread. I made that pretty early on in my MB career and I really don't feel comfortable sharing lyrics with you guys before they are turned into songs. As I am working on my new mixtape, I wanted some organization on here as well. I created a blog (in the blogging section) and will begin updating that weekly asking for suggestions for my new mixtape and mainly just using it as a journal for future projects (cause I think it'll be cool to look back on sometime).
Anyways, what I would like from this thread is to cut some of the bullshit banter that happened in my other thread (where a couple noobs came in and fought with me) and use this thread as a tool for 2 things. 1) Let people hear my mixtape, Built To Be Filthy 2) Receive feedback and constructive criticism so my new mixtape doesn't blow. I appreciate the comments some of you left in my other thread. My stuff seemed generally well received. If you want to repeat any criticisms or comments here, please do. My friends IRL are not a good resource to help me improve because they are "yes men" and are usually too pussy to say they hate something I do. YOU could be a good resource though and I'm not going to get butthurt off your criticism. Basically I'd like people to listen to my mixtape and tell me what they think I do well and what I could do better. About the songs, let me say that this mixtape has no theme and no order of listening. The songs Only In America and Stay Strong were recorded way before the others and I know those songs are weak. You Wanna Battle was done the day I recorded and shouldn't have been put on the mixtape. We Be Shining Brighter Than The Suckas was an attempt at a collab and didn't work very well. I also think my vocals are a little too loud in a lot of songs. If you have any equipment advice, please give it to me. I record everything in a garage and literally know nothing about production aspects. Drop any thoughts or comments you have. The download link is in my signature. |
