You're talking content... delivery and voice is much different from content. For me this is a constant growth process, we're both learning things and starting out at the bottom. I want to master my craft, I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with my delivery and voice because I strive to make it better each and every day. Every line crisp, every punchline hit HARD. That's what I was telling you to do.
Also, I've seen those kids on youtube and you're right, content-wise we're rapping about the same things. (For the most part anyway, I'm telling you bro, give ALL my songs a chance like I did with yours and you'll find they are not all like that). But you cant find a single kid on there who's rapping about these things in the way that I do. We may be delivering similar messages, but consider flow, wordplay, creativity, metaphors... I got em beat and I think you know it. Don't compare me to youtube kids. That's some hating even I wouldn't throw your way, damn youtube kids... Oh, and the most and important thing? Hit me UP with that beat son, let's make one dope ass track together.

Every guy on youtube though has a slightly varied style. I do think you're a pretty good rhymer, your flow is really good at times when you're rapping fast. But it's like I just don't think you put it all together. Like you'll have a few great bars, some good delivery and punchlines or whatever, but then the next two will try to take it too far and it just sounds like you're desperate to find rhyming words. But yeah, content wise it's just the same thing over and over again. It's not like your style is so crazy or original that it completely seperates you from other guys with the same content (to me anyways). It's like when I listen to MTV late at night or something... and every hip hop song is about poppin bottles, having money, ****ing other peoples girls, havin swag, smokin weed, etc. I'm just tired of hearing the same damn thing in every song. I don't want to fit into someone elses mold of what rap is, I just make my own.

Yo... beat is CRACK. I'm up in NY right now so I won't be able to record until the 9th or 10th when I get back to my spot so my verse should be ready then... Where'd you or Conan find this beat?

oh and also do we want to try to have a central theme? I was thinking if you could turn the vocals up on the chorus "there goes my gun..." we could all kinda center around using your mind as a lyrical weapon, like a mental gun.
Also dirty we should pick one thread to communicate in instead of doing it through both of ours so just reply in here and we'll work everything out in in this thread from now on if thats cool. (you too conan)

Different beat? F*ck that this joint is really dope dude, if anything just clean up the samples and bump up the volume on the chorus sample so we have a definitive chorus. This beat is ill though if you do want to do a different one let me destroy this **** on my own and il send it to you for approval. I already started writing to it ya diggg

Well it's up to Dirty really. He said it wasn't really suiting his style and I can understand cause it's a different kind of beat. The good thing about it tho is if he wants I can change the instrumental during his verse to better suit his style.

Damn, and I'm the one who's style fits into a mold?... Oh well. I reallly wish I had my mic here, I'm cooking up a verse right now and it's sounding reaaaaal nice. You guys talk over what you'd like to do, I'm down with whatever you decide on but I'm still gonna hit up this beat for at least one verse and send it your way because C-man this beat is just too good for me to throw out.

I think the beat is good but not THAT good. I have at least 10-15 other beats I think are better (that I didn't make).. I'm just sayin, that's not a beat I can see myself rhyming over. Good luck with the song if you guys wanna use that beat. If you wanna use another one and still collab then lets do it. It doesn't make any sense to push a song when one of the guys in the collab isn't feeling thebeat. |
