I don't make the grade
I don’t make the grade
Verse 1: I’m holding you in my arms I’m scared in case I let you fall I’ll carry you towards your dreams One slip and you’ll lose it all Verse 2: I’ll always fight your corner But this one’s too big for me You tell me I need to be stronger I’ll be strong when I set you free... Chorus: The last thing I want is to look in your eyes And see a heart of pain I’ve lost count how many times I’ve Been the one to blame I know you’ve made mistakes as well but Mine are all I see It’s time to throw me to the wind It’s time to set you free Verse 3: Crying like a sleepless child Things aren’t going all too well The truth just can’t hide the lies The lies you could never tell Verse 4: I’m trying to be the best I can be But my best doesn’t make the grade Go on girl and spread your wings Save yourself before it’s too late ... Chorus: The last thing I want is to look in your eyes And see a heart of pain I’ve lost count how many times I’ve Been the one to blame I know you’ve made mistakes as well but Mine are all I see It’s time to throw me to the wind It’s time to set you free Verse 5: I love you for loving me but Good times are few and far between I never want this love to stop But it will be better for you you’ll see Verse 6: Fake smile to help you make your way The light covers you when it has the chance Don’t turn around to see my pain I’ll watch your footprints in the sand... Chorus: The last thing I want is to look in your eyes And see a heart of pain I’ve lost count how many times I’ve Been the one to blame I know you’ve made mistakes as well but Mine are all I see It’s time to throw me to the wind It’s time to set you free... So run Run and jump And I swear to god you’ll fly Just run Run and jump I promise you, you’ll be alright.... |

hi darkwhite,
this is quite an epic, a real long tale. i hear it as a country number? long sprawling song like johnny cash or a young dylan would enjoy playing with the verses, simple guitar, slow harp to create mood. nice work. keep up the good work. dan |
