God He Lived At No 34. Mary needed help from God today, She dropped down to her naked knees and prayed, Why do you make me feel so bad, Why do you make me feel so sad, And God he lived at number 34, He watched Mary playing from his front door, He said I am your god from heaven above, Be good now Mary and show your god some love, Chorus; He said I have the angels And I can make them sing Have you ever kissed an angels lips Or touched an angels wing, And God he wore an old blue anorak, He carried dolly mixtures and he wore a checked flat-cap, And he took Marys photograph, On an old instamatic, plastic, Kodak. Now Gods garden lies unkempt and over-grown, And sometimes Mary calls but God is never home, On a cold Tuesday morning they took away her king, She’ll never kiss an angels lips or touch an angels wing, Chorus; He said I have the angels, And I can make them sing, Have you ever kissed an angels lips, Or touched an angels wing………………… |
