Two Lonley Lovers
"Two Lonley Lovers"
(Based on true events) (Intro) All alone in this all night cafe, in the City of Love. sitting at the bar, having a drink, trying to think. Wondering why, things turned out this way? (Verse 1) Two years and two days ago. All alone in an all night cafe, in the city of love. Sitting at the bar, having a drink, trying to think. Wondering if love, would ever come my way? Then she walked in gave me a little grin, and I bought her a drink. We talked for a while. I ask her-her name. She said with a smile: Ain't it a shame, you don't know my name? (Bridge) Two lonley lovers, at the bar in a cafe. One looking for love, the other wondering, had love come his way? One wishing the other, would ask her to dance. While the other lonely lover's, wishing for romance. Two lonley lovers, all alone, in an all night cafe. Dancing close together, while the juke-box played. We made a slow circle, around the dance floor. The music still playing, we waltzed out the door. (Verse 2) Two lonley lovers, walking down the side walk. Two lonley lovers, making small talk. We walked hand-n-hand, then we came to a park. Now we're two lonley lovers, all alone in the dark. Two lonley lovers, hand-N-hand in a park. Two lonley lovers, alone in the dark. Me wanting her, her wanting me. Ain't it a shame, I don't even know her name? (Verse 3) We strolled hand-N-hand, till we came to a Weeping Willow Tree. I put my arms around her, and ohh, she kissed me. Two lonlely lovers, beneth a Weeping Willow Tree. Me loving her, her loving me. Two lonley lovers, making love to each other. Ain't it a shame, I don't even know her name? (Verse 4) Two lonley lovers, walking up the side walk, neither would talk, till we came to the all night cafe. We held hands for a moment. With tears in our eyes, we said our good-byes. As she walked away, I called out and said: Hey! I don't even know your name? she stopped, turned around, smiled and said: Hey! Ain't it a shame, you don't know my name? (Bridge) One lonely lover, standing on the side walk. While the other lonely lover, disappears into the dark. I'm still wanting her. I'm sure she's wanting me. Ain't it a shame, I don't even know her name? (Verse 5) Two years and two days, have come and gone. I'm still here all alone, in this all night cafe in the City of Love. Sitting at the bar, having a drink, trying to think. Wondering why things turned out this way? (Bridge) One lonely lover, at the bar in a cafe. The other lonely lover, far-far away. Two lonley lovers, lonley for each other. Ain't it a shame, I don't even know her name? Oh... Ain't it a shame, I don't even.. know.. her.. name? (Outro) Two lonely lovers... Two lonely lovers... Two lonely lovers... |

Hey jodyWayne, just thought I'd let you know the rules for posting in this Song Writing Forum. You'll need to make a new topic and call it "jodyWayne's songs" or something like that, and then post all the material you want discussed or critiqued in that one topic. We have a few members here (myself included) who like to look at the lyrics and give our opinions and constructive criticism, so you should be all set once you start posting lyrics or poems. |

I like it. Reminds me of Journeys "Don't Stop Believing" for obvious reasons. Also, I've alot of respect for you and anyone else that risks their lives for this great nation of ours. Thank you Jody, keep writing bud.
