I'll give some constructive feedback first. I think it's not quite juvenile and silly enough to be really funny. At the same time, it's too juvenile and silly to be really cool. It's just my opinion, though, someone else might find it hilarious or super-cool.
Still, I'm quite impressed. It's not the song I would bother listening to very often, but considering - and okay, I don't know you so I'm guessing - it's just something you've whipped up in your spare time, it's great! It sounds good, fitting vocals, nice riffs, cool drums and a memorable refrain. Job well done, I guess

i really don't know what i expected when i clicked play. in fact, i wasn't going to give it a chance at all until i read tore's comment...
fairly solid, i guess. sounds like it could be a serious song...maybe change the lyrics tbh. that and it is a bit long. i got a bit bored. but otherwise...not bad.

Hi Thrustin,
I agree with tore and duga that your song is technically solid...*very* well played, just like your others...and sounds like it could be a serious song. As someone who once wrote a poem that I quite liked about menstruation (holding up a bloody tampon by the string looks remarkably like holding up a dead mouse by the tail) and other bodily secretions, I tend to be a fan of songs that deal directly with bodily functions rather than pretending there is something wrong with them. Yours is surprising because it doesn't make any effort to sound funny other than through the words. If I recall, that is part of your sense of musical humor: making the listener unsure about what is true about a song (serious vs. humorous). I remember reading your posts when you first joined MB, and I had wanted to respond long before this, but then I couldn't remember your login name or the name of your "group," "Willy and the Outlaw Ramblers," to find your thread again. I remember hearing the song of you in the studio where you pretend to be various people...the producer telling the bass player to play notes lower than they exist on the bass, if I recall. That was very funny! "Rehearsal 4 string"...that's the one! I remember some MB members were irate that the producer was so nasty...they didn't realize it's all Willy. I'll have to listen to more of your songs to see what's new since back in June. Apropos snakes vs. logs, mentioned in your song on poop...I have decided that diet determines the shape/consistency. Vegetarians tend to make snakes..at least that is my hypothesis based on several observations of, um, what's in the pot.

I think you forgot "soup" or "porridge" by the way!

When I'm listening to this (I'm no music critic) I think at the start, this has potential, then the vocals come and it makes me just think that you made this good song and couldn't fill it with good lyrics so just made up anything to fill up the vocal part. That's what I honestly thought. I really like the parts without vocals though. It's really good.

I agree with Kayleigh.
I thought it had potential to be a good song at the beginning, too. |

I got banned on a forum for posting a poop chart, so I wrote this song.
Here's "Outlaw Ramblin".(5 string bass player needed) And if you are interested in hearing my more recent retardedness, check out the myspace. My YouTube is a mess - too much to wade through. Billy Cool and the Whips on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads And yes, I agree. The lyrics are terrible. |

If you thought the lyrics were terrible why did you allow them?
and this new one appeals to me, its very calming! except for the conversation.

Why did I allow them? I made them myself! I write stupid stuff because I'm not comfortable getting emotional/dramatic about serious stuff. I want to song dramatically about subjects that are not dramatic.
I you want calming, try this out out. It's not very funny or offensive - just a nice slow jam. |
