An experimental track I made. - Not what you're expecting!
This isn't my usual fare, for those of you that are thinking 'More guitar?'
This is an experimental vocals piece I made using cubase and a microphone, it contains no instruments whatsoever, in any part. No softsynths, no samples, nothing except recordings of my own voice, chopped, changed, filtered, and generally warped as an experiment. Harmonically, not complex either, so dont expect any radicaly harmonies jumping out of nowhere. That said, what do you all think? http://up.mibbit.com/up/IakS8Ytr.mp3

Even knowing all the sounds originated as your voice, GuitarBizarre, it was hard to believe the keyboard sounds (the melodic background notes) weren't really from a keyboard!
One reason is that they sounded so much higher than your speaking voice (the one saying things such as, "One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching). The overall effect of the piece is definitely interesting. It makes me think people could easily dispense with all other instruments besides the human voice. Now you can call yourself "VoiceBizarre" and not just "GuitarBizarre."

Nice work, very interesting.
It's hard to believe that the ambient background was your voice! I liked the words you used as well. Actually this reminds somewhat of early Porcupine Tree... some of Voyage 34 sounds like this. |
