James Smith's (badfastbusa) Collection of music
I was wondering if it would be cool to put all of my original songs here for you guys to check out? I am new to this forum, and would like to further promote my music, and this seemed like a really cool place to hang out and discuss music with people.
Can i post my songs that i have on youtube here? BTW, 2 of them have cuss words in them, so i want to also make sure if it is ok to post them here as well??? I read in the rules that we are to have only one thread each, so that is why i named this thread accordingly.

Here are a few of the songs i have wrote and sing... Some of them are very good songs that have got lots of ratings/views/and comments... You guys should definitely check out my newest, which is named "Low Down Dirty Whore", I just got finished with it! Hook me up with a rating and a comment if you get a chance as well...
Thanks for checking out what i am about, and enjoy! James Smith BTW, The Free again, is an absolute NSFW or children song!!!!!!

I do look forward to listening to your songs and I am glad you are open to getting feedback about them (I recall reading in the Banter Section that you write country music, a genre about which I know little), but first I want to let you know that the site Moderators may ask you to delete the YouTube links from your posts. Reason: MusicBanter doesn't want posts to be self-promotion. It does appear that once people have been part of the community for a long time, this rule is relaxed! (EDIT: I'm rereading the rules and it looks like one simply needs to have 15 posts before adding links to one's posts, in which case it should be okay :-). If you aren't allowed to post links, then I recommend you add your youtube site in your profile so that people can simply click on it there and get to the songs. Then, in your post, you can simply direct people to your contact information. I've seen the moderators having to go around deleting links that people place in their posts, which keeps them busy, so thought I could help you and them avoid this situation. Say, would you like perhaps to post your lyrics here in your thread? I always feel it is fun to read someone's lyrics and then go listen to how they sound in the actual song! --Erica Last edited by VEGANGELICA; 07-12-2009 at 06:46 PM. |

I really don't understand the self-promotion rule, whats the point of a singer/songwriter joining a music forum to share his music if you can't make a post about it? Also, i read that everyone is only supposed to have one thread with all of their stuff in it, thats what i was doing with this thread... Why would anyone be interested in what i have to offer if i didn't post up about it in my one and only thread?
-edit, moderators/admin, You obviously don't have to, but if you don't mind, could you please send me a pm if you would like me to take the links down to my music, and what the reasoning behind this is? I am just having a hard time fathoming what the reasoning behind this is.
