If the drum beat was recorded as its own track, I would love to tweak it with some minor editing/echo etc if you don't mind. Let me know, and you can email it to me - cavanherk@gmail.com

Thanks K.K. I can't stop nodding my head to that beat.
Its recorded as its own track in Audacity. Do you want me to just make it into 2 seperate .wav files and email them to you? I basically recorded it by listening to the song through headphones over my laptop, and recording into my desktop computer (better recording quality then the laptop), then lined up the 2 tracks.

Hey, it worked, so that's cool. Yeah go ahead and email me the drum .wav file. I have the other one downloaded and saved already.

Thanks! This way we can adjust any balance and tweak any effects that might make it sound more polished.

And let me know whenever you might be interested in an other track to drum over.

Anyone want to throw bass on this track or know someone who might?

Just C and G, really. I take the C chord up the neck for beats 3 & 4 of each measure of the verse.

On the second one, I forgot to cut out the last few minutes where I'm just playing random stuff and I don't feel like cutting it out and re-uploading it. There is still about 4 good minutes of just the beat on there though. If you wait until the very end you get to hear me cough!!
Drum Beat 2 just came up on my iTunes...I love that last minute or so of random rolling and experimentation. Sounds like you were having some good fun.

Thanks, drumming is always fun, so is playing any other instrument.

We really need more stuff contributed, I would love to work on some other songs. I might record a few things if I get the chance.

I have several tracks recorded, but I would prefer to come up with some stuff just for this project...the problem is time...it's a busy summer so far.

Let me know if I should go ahead and put up a couple more of my existing tracks though.

Default New Song

Okay I've written a new song, and I will record it for posting here eventually, with acoustic rhythm guitar for anyone who wants to add layers to it.

I don't really have a song title for it yet, but here are the lyrics:

You can taste the times,
And feel the vibe
It’s bitter, shaking all the vines
Some take it in stride,
They’ve stronger stems, and hold,
Let the rest fall to become the wine
That blinds with illusions of grandeur
There view is grander still
From their dream homes atop of the hill
Which is beamed across the screen,
For all to see, want, buy,
It makes me want to scream…

But the irony is
Things aren’t as they seam
Don’t fall fool to
Sirens singing

Break down the door,
Knock down the wall,
Go see the world
Before you get too old.
Kick off your shoes,
And run away,
And find a place
Where you can finally escape.

To be yourself
Take your life down off the shelf
Break the vacuumed visqueen
Keeping you in-
Side by side we hide,
Here in the shadows of
Our dreams whose leaves are going dry
But gives us a view to the sunshine
Well, the sun is shining still,
We can fetch some water from the mill pond
And reach again for the sky
Like a chrysalis,
Emerge a butterfly

And the irony is
Things aren’t as they seam
Don’t let yourself fall fool to
Sirens singing

Find the strength
To let it go
You owe yourself
No baskets anymore
Turn softened feet
To hardened souls.
Live in a world
That has been neither bought nor sold.
