You've got to be kidding me.
For her age she's brilliant.

She's gangster.
Wish I had a transcript, can't make out some of it.

That's my point. Ignore the delivery, the lyrics are excellent and for a change the subject matter is refreshing as opposed to some of the crap you hear these days.

Exactly.
Got any more like this? I may go about on google searching for any written works by her. If you've got any recommends, let me know.

Edit:
Her style reminds me a lot of a couple friends I used to chat up who were, back then, a group called Culture Vultures. One of the guys, J, used to write stuff like this.
I'll see if I can't find some of his stuff.

Fraid not. You could try her myspace.
She puts me in mind lyrically (in mind only btw) of Gil Scott Heron.

Hence the thread title...

Am I to understand that you think her lyrics are no better than the standard for this forum?

Spot on.

I'd heard other spoken word artists before, most of them confusing their own words, but Heron doesn't do that. He just speaks truth and that's all it needs.

Nice stuff.

Edit:
Addressed to the Gil vid.
