With 'wherever I go', your essentially looking for rather hyberbolic statements right? Like:
etc. etc. I'm just gonna start from the bottom and work my way up here if you don't mind. :o
My issues start with the second verse here. First, forests aren't know for being low. They are known for trapping unwary visitors in their vice-like darkness. So, that line could easily be changed to--

Since we've changed the first line here to a call, we have to write the response--and so to keep your response consistant, we have to use something open. Like a plain (pasture, meadowland, lowlands etc. etc.)

We'll just say

So we've finished that line. Now lets take your mountain idea and expand that

Now our response obviously has to be a vally or a canyon. I'm going to choose a canyon here (it's more interesting in my opinion)

So we've finished that second line, you could probably add one more verse using that technique and use your first verse as your chorus. That would make for one nice little song
