Reading this thread, it makes me realize how hard it is to be a good songwriter. Trying to be new and creative while not being ridiculous at the same time. It's a tough job to do alright.

Sadly, on the generic **** gets promoted in the mainstream music industry anyways. To promote healthy growth of lyrics, it's best if you stick to the evolution of your own ideals, I'd say. That way, even if the lyrics aren't cutting edge, they can stay organically true. That way, they'll be at least better than ****.
