Default Product of a long car ride and an overactive mind

They say the pen
Is mightier than the sword
I write for a living
And I still wouldn't choose
Against sharp metal
That's for sure

The pen carries the ink
The hand writes the lyrics
Our minds know them all
Just sit down and hear it

Our hearts are the real heroes
Taming our overzealous minds
Without our hearts' guidance
We wouldn't know what to find

You still have to thank the bands
Who laid out the plans
And the people who stole our hearts
And meant it

But with such a busted heart
Who will guide your mind?
It's a domino effect
From deep down inside

In the end
You've gotta thank the listeners
Who listen to all the bad songs
And they knew all along
You'd do better

I suppose you could
Thank yourself a bit
All your insides
And your undying wit

You really pull these
Out of your appendix
And your thirst thereafter
Becomes relentless

I suppose you could
Thank yourself a bit
All you insides
And your undying wit
But that's the most of it...

All in all
Thank your parents
For giving you such a terrible life
You simply had to turn it around
Sometime

And I suppose you could
Thank yourself a bit
All Your insides
And your undying wit
But that's the most of it...
No need to big-headed...

"Throw Down With Fisticuffs"

the voices that you hear
are a 1-2 punch
we eat bands up like you
like afternoon lunch

and it's easy
like a 2-bit whore
who's dancing on your hip
when you enter the door
but pull out your guns
and she'll hit the floor

[chorus] we're your TKO
your two-hit fight
we hit you
you hit the floor
you sit at home and watch coverage
of our new world tour
new world order
where music is better
where we always win
when we're in our house
where we're still men
and you're all a mouse

we're pioneers
like i said before
where the fans love what they have
they never want more

but they still get it
they still get our best
well it's round 9
you should take a rest

it's a ten-count
and you're still on the ground
you guys just lost
and we just got found

[repeat chorus-too long]

we've got the upperhand
giving you the uppercut
we hit too hard
you cant dodge the punches
throw down with fisticuffs
as the glove hits the mouth
and the bones make the crunches
it's obvious to you
we eat bands like you
like afternoon lunches

"Math Isn't That Hard With Flesh-Toned Paper"

Since when can you be disappointed?
Since when has someone not made the grade?
When you're finished with them
You've got no lousy t-shirt
And "he" certainly got laid

And i'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs
I'm not sure what's wrong
Maybe they think
I'm dumb... I'm not sure...

It's hard to find symmetry
In the vast desert sands
And somehow you find it hard to choose
From a sea of raised hands

I've tried seeing the bright side
Of everything in life
But maybe this time
I'll give the dark side a try

You're a little loose
If you get what i mean
And a little too flirty
From what i've seen

And I'm sorry for your fortune
Of not finding a good guy
But maybe in your case
You should look at the bright side
And see what you can find

It's hard to find symmetry
In the vast desert sands
And somehow you find it hard to choose
From a sea of raised hands

I've tried seeing the bright side
Of everything in life
But maybe this time
I'll give the dark side a try

I'm not terribly interested
In your twisted ways
But if you turn yourself around
I may look back someday

"Step Into My Mind"

Step into my mind
Where myriad forms
Of the oddest things
Come to reside

Cross my heart
Hope to die
Stick a poodle in my eye
Because needles hurt too much
And I'm afraid to try

This is where pigs fly
And where no matter
Where you go
Not a tear will strike your eye

Where everything's happy
As far as i'm concerned
And the door marked "pain"
Hasn't been opened

Where smiles rule supreme
And nobody's sad
Cause you haven't got time
To be sad this lifetime

Where carnal pleasures
Take backseats to movie trips
And backseat trips
Never rear their head

So will you join me
In my own head
Where what you meant
Was what you said

Where no word is misconstrued
And no letter is misused
Though I don't recycle
I'd hate to waste the few words i use

I'm a quiet kid
As you might know
And when i'm not speaking aloud
You know where to go

I'm in my head
Come for a ride
There's always a man that says
"come back sometime"

Cross my heart
Hope to die
Stick a poodle in my eye
Because needles hurt too much
And I'm afraid to try

"Georgraphy Is Cool"

Hey look
It's a bird
It's a plane
It's a sunrise
On the wrong side
Of the Earth

The only thing
That's between (us)
Is a bunch of air
And some housing frames
And I think it's real lame
That we stare at the same stars

But we can't touch (we can't touch)
We can't feel (We can't feel)
We can't feel the feelings
We call real

And the Earth
Spins on it's axis
It's always beneath us
So why can't we be nearer
Like this?

Do you feel that fate
Has brought us near
Or is it from an event
Most would deem queer?

Personally
I can still see
Us under the stars
In the same car
Marveling at near attraction
The moon roof reflects our reaction

But we can't touch (we can't touch)
We can't feel (We can't feel)
We can't feel the feelings
We call real

And the Earth
Spins on it's axis
It's always beneath us
So why can't we be nearer
Like this?

These are all songs i've written for my band. Figured i'd join a music/song-writing forum for some feedback.

Imagine if John Lennon was around these days. I wonder if he would seek feedback on online forums..hhmmmmm. Maybe.
