Simply give me a break for once in my life
Here are some lyrics by a band I really like, 311 Plain- I come to know a travesty, and so sad to see, the scene dictated by frustrated former musicians, switchin' the emphasis from art to money, but I demand autonomy, I tell you what else huh, I tell you what's wrong to me, the industry's ability to manufacture stars, They churn 'em out like Iwo Jima makes cars, but the blame lies not with those suits for trying, it's the sheep that keep on buying, that soulless crap, whatever they put in front of ya, the hysteria of America, OffBeat Bare Ass- I know you've got to gripe with the way that I get high, Graffix bong sing along with the cry of a mandatory sentence for a crime with no victim, when everyone knows jail terms should be picked in, order of the pain that they cause, you know, do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law, until you violate the rights of another, respect the space of your sister and your brother, the war on drugs may be well intentioned, but it falls f*cking flat, when you stop and mention, an overcrowded prison where a rapist gets paroled, to make room for a dude who has sold a pound of weed, to me that's a crime, here's to good people doin' time, y'all! It's obviously what he's talking about here. But instead of just saying the Music Industry or the War on Drugs is wack, he really used some good analogies to get his point across, and also reveals some truths. If you haven't heard much of 311, and want to get into them, try one of their first 4 albums: Music, Grassroots, Self-Titled, Transistor - you won't go wrong Last edited by Miltamec Soundsquinaez; 03-28-2008 at 10:28 PM. Reason: I don't know, I misspelled a word, alright? |
