I came up with the chorus over the summer and I wanted to finish it out. I really like the last 8 lines. Some feedback would be nice. Thanks.

I Went To Work Today

I went to work today
I got a new job
The way wasn’t to great
But we know how that goes

The risk weren’t the best
But we tried to be our own
We fought our hardest
But who do you know?

You now what it feels like
To be hammered down
Not knowing what to expect
But do we live for that?

We don’t come freely
Nor shall our lives
But something should be expected
Once you show up today

I went to work today
I got a new job
The way wasn’t to great
But we know how that goes

This place rolls on
It wont be the same
Nothing will ever stay put
But what is happening?

Our trust will never heal
The words sound the same
Believing has faded
What has the place turned?

We don’t come freely
Nor shall our lives
But something should be expected
