Default Expensive

i might add a third stanza. i dont know though. Think of this as a neil young type of song, especially "Dont let it bring you down"

YouTube - Neil Young "Don't let It Bring you Down"

In fact I kind of started with the first line and took it as inspiration. The end result is vastly different than his song, but you could sing it to the same chord progression (except for the chorus). Anyways, let me know what you think.

Young man sleeping on the side of the road
Amidst the shadows of an old oak tree
Cold ground biting off the tips of his toes
As he wades through the endless dream
He doesn't look up as I'm driving by
But his face is all I can see
Then he gives me this big ol' smile
But its just a memory

I wish these lessons
Weren't so expensive
I tried to tell him
Dont be so restless
But he don't listen
He missed the message
I wish these lessons
Weren't so expensive

Father honks for me in a car outside
'Cause he wont come to the door
Mother wont let me take a step from her side
'Cause she thinks that she deserves more
I haven't seen either in over ten years
But somehow I already know
These arguments are never worth a win
And now I want to go home

I wish these lessons
Weren't so expensive
I try to tell them
Dont be so restless
But they wont listen
They miss the message
I wish these lessons
Weren't so expensive
