Default Cherry Kisses

I found the last letter you ever wrote, And I came accross the words,
"I wont let you forget me", It was the saddest thing i'd ever heard.
And now my favourite songs all mean a little less to me,
And love has become an impossible lie to beleive.

I understand what it meant to the people before me,
The dreamers who can't feel anything.
They went to make their lives, And left home to find out why,
They could only ever have eyes, for a man a million miles away.

They'd think about him every day, In between the hands they hold,
And write him every last thought of what it would be like to be old.
But the hope that they clinged to, was only a last resort,
For him to fall back on, To settle to have someone to hold.

And the Coral will keep shining, But thats no longer my goal,
I hope someone will crush you and you die alone before you're old.
And while i watch the kids racing to meet each other, jumping over cracks,
I remember how I ran your race to find you were running on a different track.

Any comments from anyone would be great, I wrote it on the bus on the way home the other day and I'm excited to know what people think?

These streets are empty but we don't feel alone,
We can run in the dark and sleep on the roads.
