Default You never quite know how long your life will last

so embrace it before it runs out.

as my body grows older
my memory will collapse
your bright eyes will vanish
and I'll forget to bring them back
all this talk of wasted life,
that we indulge in regularly
is perhaps the motive behind
why our generation's lazy

so lets run for the hills
run for the gates
holding hands with our lovers
explore, escape
no more time wasted indoors
no structure tying us down
no more dreams of palace walls
just happiness to be found

when my youth rots away,
becomes a passing thought in my brain
don't want to be wishing
for all those days back again
let us not sour with our wrinkles
but grow greater within time
a guitar string for each decade
elders linked within rhyme

they all ran for the hills
ran for the gates
holding hands with their sweethearts
exploring, escaped
no more time wasted indoors
no structure tying them down
no more dreams of their youth for
now there's happiness to be found
