Writing A Story To your song?
I find it helps me a whole lot to just think of an item or event in your life, and just start to write random words down on paper. After you got all the words you can get on the paper, start to look at them, and pick out the ones that stand out to you. Then try and put them into a sentences that construct a story of some kind. That's usually what I do to start off a song.
Does anyone agree or disagree with this technique? any thoughts? any better ideas? |

I always wrote lyrics in stream of consciousness and then edited them as I went along.
But for me the best way was to put the music of a loop and let the thoughts pour from my head to the paper as quickly as I could produce them. |
