So yea, I'm new here. I was going to post something that I wrote a long time ago (which I think is only decent, while many people that I have shown it too have enjoyed.) But after looking through the Songwriting Tips thread I decided to experiment with those suggestions. I wrote this in like 5 minutes, but tell me what you think.


The Same, Through and Through

I've written at least a thousand pages about you.
Since the time you had blonde hair
to the days it was burnt by the sun,
The words have always flowed
like the red wine being poured
in the glasses at the dinner we never had.
And although the emotions came out on paper
they never seemed to be present for the best moments.
I'm sure I've been caught
tip-toeing around the staircase everyday
with my hair parted over my eyes thinking
that if I can see only a little bit of you,
you'll barely be able to see me.
Now the new you walks by your question of "Who?"
Strutting your unique fashion, that I have always loved,
with a fresh face on --
The bones in your body vibrating with frustration,
while mine clatter like teeth in cold weather.
