Tales Can Twist

You used to be all I could ever want, All I would ever need
You kept Secrets worth keeping hide behind the scenes
All this time waiting for life to arrive and take flight
Hope as my witness blinded by reality’s harsh light

I took the last train of hope in an attempt to chase the dreams
Reach beyond the hand we have been dealt (Hopeless as it seems)
A million regrets cannot change our future, my friend
My good intentions won’t be seen again, never seen again

Chorus X2:-

Believe me, when I say Tales can Twist (I’ll tell you)
We Will Curse the opportunities we missed
We must hold the regret within a clenched fist
You may write yourself into a Tale that can twist

I see you fighting upstream urged forward by torn sails
And the river runs deep with an impressive collection of tales
Can you feel the trouble held beneath these calm waters…?
Waiting to get into the mind of the next generation of daughters

Send all your wishes to the skies and hope for a reply
And when they don’t make it back you can ask yourself why
Why, Oh, Why, has this tale twisted like the demise of a smile…?
No doubt we will still be in denial for a while

Lessons meant for betterment have gone to waste
The best laid plans have been ruined and replaced
With a shallow smile and a cruel glint in your eye
Representing our fears and Im not sure why…

The face of optimism is looking ragged and worn
Along with the cold shell that surrounds your bones
Maybe sometime soon the sun will once again shine …. (maybe not)
More likely, your tale has been twisted, much like mine

You did a good job on telling a story, and had good descriptions.
You have way too much rhyming though.
