The Youth Series, Part 3: She restores his faith in the universe
I sat alone, became worthless in my mind
and told it to anyone who I could find, I spied with my bitter eye A tangent universe that I claimed as mine where I could sit up in my room and no one was allowed to enter, the world appeared to be lost in early morning TV shows that I watched, as my anxious heart made restless, my sleep, my dreams, of a faceless girl who hugged me away from it all, and who knew how to love at my beckoned call. Now, may this girl have a face? She stares across the schoolyard to this boy, all alone and cross-legged, only anticipating what lies inside his lunch box, not daring to glance at the girl with the dyed black hair and pink and white stripey socks. However, I don't need to put myself on a pedestal, she DOES appear at my silent call and now we sit in our house by the sea, decorating the christmas tree, I turn to her, remove my glasses so she can see my eyes I take her hand, and timidly as ever, I ask her to be my wife. |
and pink and white stripe socks.
Stripe would sound better, it fits the mood of the piece better. I love it, your stuff lately has been really ill. |
