Well, tell him he has no culture, as the song is clearly a combination of Tim Burton, Tom Waits and Fagin (oliver twist) and as such, represents the pinnacle of human artistic achievement.

Ok that just weird to so many levels

Why? If other band members are going to stop people from hearing new songs because they're too different and some people might dislike it, then where does then leave a band?

The answer, in the same category as:

Stereophonics and Green Day, playing music that was good originally, but became pointless after years of the same.
Or even worse,
U2 and Nickelback. Just **** and always **** in the same way.

Abuse us now, because we'll turn into Nickelback eventually anyway, so you might as well start kicking early.
