The Precipice (not tonight luv, ta)
You think I need
A girl like you With beauty unearnt And so abused My eyes may glaze In tempted mist But you won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice The most loaded questions Are most easily asked It seems I walk The hardest path But my life is fine Just as it is You won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice You offer up A short-term bliss You wager I Would stoop to this Another tally On your list A one-time love A two-hour tryst You make your move Here’s the twist I raise my hand Brush away your kiss You won’t push me over That precipice You won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice Won’t push me over That precipice (Its a very romanticized account of the many, many times I've been propositioned by drunk, fit women and for some reason I always turned them down... even when single.) I've already got the arrangement in mind for it, most similar to Deftones in style... kind of groaning the verses, whispering the 1st and 2nd chorus and screaming my lungs out the last chorus when the whole band really kicks in for a very loud ending. The guitarist and drummer in my band were only in metal bands until this one, and I've found that I have a wicked scream on me so this should be good. |
