Default Let's get lyrical!!

ok, so this sounded like a good thread idea....someone picks some lyrics, and essentially rips them apart....say what that song/those lyrics make you feel....say anything.....others can join in desciphering that song or they can post another one....also, this isn't aboslutely necessary but it would be nice if you would include an upload of the song....so we know what you're talkin about....

my pick:

The smiths - There is a light that never goes out

Take me out tonight
Where theres music and theres people
And theyre young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I havent got one
Anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and i
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please dont drop me home
Because its not my home, its their
Home, and Im welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I dont care
I dont care, I dont care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought oh god, my chance has come at last
(but then a strange fear gripped me and i
Just couldnt ask)

Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I dont care
I dont care, I dont care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I havent got one, da ...
Oh, I havent got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Oh, there is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out

The Smiths - There is a light that never goes out ( this is a live version, i like it more than the album version )

this is a pretty straight forward song, about a man who, fed up with problems, wants nothin more than to go out and be with the person he loves. the chorus fucks me up more than i can describe...i've never been in love, and i'm a terrible romantic, so i hope this is what it feels like....
the most heartbreaking part of the song is "And in the darkened underpass
I thought oh god, my chance has come at last (but then a strange fear gripped me and i
Just couldnt ask)..." ..you can feel the immensity of his emotions...he's harbored them for so long and still can't say a word for fear of a negative response......i get the chills every time i hear it.....i'd explode if anyone ever felt that way about me....and he was gonna ask..can you believe how sweet that is?? he was gonna ask ( probably ) if he could kiss him/her!! dear lord!
the general feel of the song, that the mere proximity to a loved one is enough, is just so fucking beautiful ....
i wonder what the "there is a light that never goes out" part means....the light is his love for him/her?

ok...now you go....or say what you feel about this song.....

It is one of his best.
And I can see why you like it so much. It has a 'folk' feel.
A beautiful song.

Edit: Imagine feeling like that and then being made to feel, like in the song, 'I Know It's Over'.
You know what I'm talking about.

Oh your such a miserable bastard mate. mmm...now who does that remind us of. *coughmorriseycough*

Well you'll be pleased to hear that after years of celibacy, even HE has found love.

Hope for you yet mate.

*sings; Oh I can feel, the soil falling over my head...and as I climb into an empty bed, Oh well*

Nothing more miserable than a moody Mancunian mate.

Yes I think it is.
I'll even go one further and say he may and I mean may have had a 'thing' for Marr.
He'll have suffered it in silence...typical of the man.

Unrequited love...worse than death itself.
