Default Spontaneous Combustion!!!!--craxy!

Spontaneous Combustion

© annie 2006

1. Once upon a lifetime, I had a special gal:
sweetest little darlin' anyone could tell.
Sparkin' in the park, I'd never get to touch.
Hormones in an uproar to Spontaneously Combust.
My sweet little darlin' had to have her way,
respectin' her wishes, wait 'til the weddin' day.
The devil made me go to town, should've seen my dust!
Had to stop the turmoil or Spontaneously Combust

CHORUS
I got fired up on whiskey, found a brassy blond.
Woke in the mornin', knowin' I'd done wrong.
Someone told my darlin', should've heard her cuss:
Got so mad I thought she'd Spontaneously Combust.

2. Everybody saw me, smile turned around:
everybody knowin' why I went to town.
Mis'ry, heartaches, headaches, agony and more:
Whiskey and women: ain't been this fool before.
I still love my darlin': she could save my wretched soul
before I fell too far and couldn't climb out the hole.
Lost my little darlin': there was no more us.
Hadda stop carousin' or Spontaneously Combust!

CHORUS (changes)
I got fired up on whiskey, tequila, gin and rum:
Woke in the mornin': wished the end of the world would come.
Lost my little darlin': Lost her faith and trust.
Gotta stop carousin' or Spontaneously Combust

3. Woke up one mornin', in the county jail;
went before the judge who wouldn't grant my bail.
"Son", he said, "I can't allow you out on the streets,
endangerin' lives of everyone you meet.
Back to the jail cell I had to face the truth.
Called for a preacher, asked him what to do.
"Son", he said, right kindly, "to save your soul's a must,
else you'll go to Hell and Spontaneously Combust

CHORUS (changes)
Now there's no more carousin' with women, rum and gin.
Turned my life around, Got my darlin' back again.
Today we got married. Should've seen the fuss.
Felt so proud I thought I'd Spontaneously Combust.
