One of the many times I nearly met my grisly demise
This lyric is a pretty much exact rendering of one particular hour in my life...
If anybody complains about the repetition I'm going to get frantic on yo'. Post Nightclub Nightmare Somebody is calling your name x 2 Free tequila sounded good at first The final one of thirty was the worst Quito, 3 am, downtown city grime Soaked in low-rate liquor, not the best of times Roads all looks the same Gray and darkest blue Muggers hide in corners Hidden from my view Middle of the city Every house a trap Deadly drunk and dizzy Stepping on the cracks This concrete kingdom amplifies The scuffing of my feet These streets are after me This concrete kingdom amplifies The scuffing of my feet These streets are after me Somebody is calling your name (x4) Fall out of the taxi, stumble on a curb Focus and defocus, lost with every turn Now beyond redemption, now beyond retrieve I’ll be gone forever, if no-one comes for me Do not know my way home Do not know where I am Jump onto the main road Pull up a police van Officer, please help me Buzz the radio Call my name a hundred times Til they guide me home This concrete kingdom amplifies The scuffing of my feet These streets are after me This concrete kingdom amplifies The scuffing of my feet These streets are after me Somebody is calling your name (x4) |
Now I'm gonna have a hangover in the morning after reading that.
Nice job DRMO. I think most of us have been there and you've put over the experience nicely. Like to see an unhappy ending though. |
What! You'd rather I'd died?!
Well, I could change it to an unhappy ending. Its a lot easier for me to write it like that because it describes what really happened. And when honesty is easier it takes a lot of willpower for me to lie! |
Quote:
As for lying...isn't that called artistic licence nowadays? I get the vibe this all happened in a town your unfamiliar with. Usually happened to me when holidaying abroad with me mates...many years ago. Best I've seen yet. |
