Tale from the estate #3-The other side of the coin
Across the street and down the path/
there's a group of men they're all having a laugh/ at the expense of the kids wearing machino hats/ breaking windows and acting like prats/ they find it funny that these kids think they're cool/ reminds them of the time that they were in school/ Riding their scooters with their bowl shaped hair/ Without a heart, without a care/ CHORUS This is the other side of the coin/ the other side of the street/ where you get no hassle, you get no hassle/ from the people that you meet/ they all live their seperate lives/ they don't give you dirty looks/ how you wish they were on your street/ unlike them other little f*cks Across the street and down the road/ there's an old woman with shopping bags by the load/ all she wants is help but she don't get none/ as she walks to the bus stop tryna shake off the scum/ She remembers her youth, the days of old/ outside the cinema, freezing cold/ huddled up in her husbands fleece/ but now her husbands gone and she's got no peace/ CHORUS This is the other side of the coin/ the other side of the street/ where you get no hassle, you get no hassle/ from the people that you meet/ they all live their seperate lives/ they don't give you dirty looks/ hoy you wish they were on your street/ unlike them other little f*cks/ This is a work in progress and it feels as though somethings wrong in it-can people give me any advice please? |

I thought the same as you with the cool and school lines and was hoping someone was going to pick up on that. I like the first line, but can't think of anything else that fits in with the second. Can someone help me with that aswell please... Also about the little f*cks line-I like that part. It pretty much says what everyone around the neighbourhood says about the little kids that run around the streets.
This is one of my least favourite songs from the 'Tales from the estate' series. |
