Hugely creative geniuses who sold well over 300 million albums worldwide? Each band member writing number one hit after hit? Highly innovative pioneers inside the studio (mostly during the 70's)? A huge back catalogue of music which has stood the test of time and still gets regular airplay on the radio worldwide today? A band who wrote an eclectic mixture of music, making it hard for the band to be pigeon-holed exclusively in to one genre? Huge bombastic live stadium shows? One of the greatest vocalists/showmen/personalities the world has ever seen?

You're right, whats to like? Idiot. Enjoy your mediocrity.

There are far stranger musical connections than this, but sure there is a link between Queen and power metal.

Agree with a lot of this, but the band got away with a lot of lesser songs thanks to Freddie Mercury's vocal ability to carry them through.

I see. I do not research the profile of the person posting their opinions, I merely respond. I thought this was a place in which music enthusiasts gathered to discuss the art. I did not realise it was an online creche.

After just 8 posts and calling somebody an idiot, is actually creche behaviour.

I think you could argue that Queen influenced a lot of power metal bands. Blind Guardian being a notable example; but to say Queen essentially started power metal is something completely different.

I do agree with this. Particularly in the 80s, Queen had some weaker material which was carried by the sheer vocal ability of Freddie.

It was relevant to the post. A post count means nothing; I am still a human being with the ability to form an opinion. You need to come to terms with that.

Okay, how the heck did Queen start power metal? They did have an influence on thrash metal, I mean, Stone Cold Crazy. But power metal sure is something completely different.

Watched Rock Montreal last night. I wanna go to a Queen concert now, but alas, I can not.

In other news, I CAN'T GET DON'T STOP ME NOW OUT OF MY HEAD!
