Though We Will Rock You grates the hell out of me nowadays, I still love Queen.
Yep, I still prefer deliciously flamboyant pomp rock to atonal indie trash, I guess I will never learn. |

Queen were the best stadium rock group ever, a perfect combination that just excelled at entertaining huge crowds. Just look at Rock In Rio or Live Aid to see how they commanded the stage, vulgar, pompous, outrageous, but always entertaining. Just watch the whole crowd clap along to Radio Ga Ga and you'll know what an experience it was to be there.
Favourites include Fat Bottomed Girls, I Want To Break Free, Bo Rap of course but also the incredibly poignant The Days Of Our Lives (written just before Freddie died, listen to the lyrics and get a great insight into why Freddie had no regrets about his lifestyle). Don't be haters cos Freddie was ***, he never denied it and took 20 years to come out like Rob Halford.

I think Andy Lambert should be the new singer for Queen, at least he can imitate Mercury pretty well. F*ck Paul Rodgers.

I agree, except his name was Adam.

I'm working on a bass guitarists list right now, what album do you think has John Deacon's best bass work?

I love the fretless bass in '39 and he wrote you're my best friend and it's great bass line. So "Night at the Opera" is up there, but honestly I'd say "The game" Another one bites the dust, Crazy little thing, some great piano work from Deacon on that one too.
