Thank you ddp... appreciate that.

Anyone have any idea when they will be releasing the Greatest Video Hits III DVD? I feel like they were on a roll with I and II and then BAM, production just stopped.

Hey guys, newbie here. Didn't know for sure where to first leave my mark in here, since it's the first night I visit this forum, but I figure "The Official Queen Thread" is the quickest way to reach like-minded music fans.

Today's top 5 recording artists are: Queen, Clapton in all its forms, Tom Waits, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, and the Beatles. I'm literally obsessed with Brian May, when it comes to Queen, and Queen II is tonight's favourite Queen album in my book.

And to keep up with the current discussion, I'm quite happy to know Q+PR are coming up with a new album, they could have picked anyone, as long as I got to hear that Red Special

I kinda liked C-lebrity, really loooooved SINT, and can't wait for the fall (when I'll be bitching at everyone on this and other forums that got to see them live that I hate them )

My fave Queen album all time is "News of the World", I know it didn't have the commercial success of some of their other albums, but that one just kinda grew on me. (Plus my all time fave Queen song "We Will Rock You" is off this record, and yeah it's been played to death in sports arenas all over the world, but I still listen to it even all these years later.)

Ooops,,,I stand corrected, I always assumed that "A Night at the Opera" and one of their greatest hits compilations was the most popular release,,,thanks for the input.

Welcome to Music Banter. Wow you have some varied taste. Not surprising as Queen fans are usually open minded. I'd have to say I never quite got Queen II. I always found it a bit silly (more than their other stuff.

Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it.

Welll, I do do see why one could find it silly. Funny, because one of the things I like the most about Queen is their versatility and how different they sound from one song to the next, yet I find myself liking more the (what? call it a concept album almost?) album on which each song all seem to go hand in hand with the next.

The radio overplays Bo-Rhap, which is why I have to go back to The March, maybe...

I love their versatility too. The album just seems to be so pompous even for Queen. I also don't find the melodies on that album as good as some of their other records. Don't get me wrong I still like it just not my fav.
My favs are:
Sheer Heart Attack
News of the World
Night at the Opera
The Game
The Works (I know this will get me in trouble)

See, I never got why Queen was called pompous. Lyrics like "She boils and she bakes and she never dots her i's" stuck in the middle of The March, or like "Pedagogue squinting wears a frown, and a satyr peers under lady's gown, he's a dirty fellow, what a dirty laddie-oh" in the Fairy Feller's are just too funny cute to make me think they were written to be pompous.

My top five, er.. today's pick:

Queen II
ANATO
Innuendo
News Of The World
The Game
