That's a very good summary and list of recommendations, Neapolitan. Just this bit I'd like to comment on if I may:-

"Greasers" was used in England too, in fact I was in high school with a guy whose nickname was "Greaser". It predates the movie Grease
and in England meant " a guy with long unwashed hair, leather jacket and such a love of low-budget motorbikes that his hands, like his hair were likely to be greasy." AFAIK Rockers were the same group, but before long hair was fashionable: they adopted the long hippie hair and became Greasers.

P.S. A Hard Day's Night is the best movie of all time. Ringo said the Beatles were "mockers" or something like that, and I didn't get it at first.
Yes, that was a clever remark from Ringo, making fun of the rivalry between Mods and Rockers, which at one time was both serious and bitter in England:-

(An old codger like Trollheart might notice the Ford Anglias in this video clip: very first car my big sister bought, and therefore the first car in my family, as my parents never had one.)

Yes, but I didn't know there had been a civil war in Great Britain between Mods and Rockers at such a scale.
I obviusly knew before entering here Mods and Rockers were different, but not that they hated each other that much. They belonged to the same generation lol
And although I've listened to Quadrophenia, I've never started paying attention to the lyrics of a song till last year. I've been listening to The Wall for my whole life. I found out 2 months ago what was it about. And as I've said in another thread, I've always prefered Tommy and Who's Next instead of Quadrophenia.

By the way, I'm not a an expert in rock music, so don't get angry if I don't know very well the stories behind some songs/albums. It's not so easy to find time to search for everything. I create threads while I'm doing a maths online lesson lol. I can only listen to music while I'm doing homework cause I don't have much free time.

Then I'm afraid I have to report you to the moderators of this forum AND to your maths teacher!

I voted for "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers In Your Hair)" because that one comes the closest to describing the late 60's hippie vibe in the US at that time for me.

However, this song would've been my choice if it had been in the list...

The Youngbloods - Get Together
