Songwriting and guitar playing are apple to oranges comparison. Jeff Beck can play more emotionally than EC and Page imho. EC wrote some decent songs but he jump the shark with "Cocaine" -- literally/figuratively. Page came up with a lot of (other people's) ideas.

I don't think it's like comparing apples to oranges, but anyway.
Thanks for posting the music video, Rod Stewart looks so good, I didn't even know that video existed! That's cause I listen to music mainly by Spotify or records.

I want to get more familiar with Hendrix's music, I'm gonna listen to the whole Electric Ladyland album. I just think listening to Clapton isn't really wasting youth lol. Which Hendrix album is the best one to get started with (taking into account that I already know some songs)?

That's a though question, all 3 (studio) albums are remarkably equal in quality. I think are you experienced might be the best place to start, just to begin at the beginning, but it really doesn't matter much. I feel like electric ladyland is slightly trippier than the other two but then again it contains a whole bunch of accessible songs too

Don't listen to them. There is no rule that says you have to burn your bridges to develop music taste. You just add to your favorites the more you learn.

Usually singers comes up with lyrics, and someone works out the chords on piano (keyboards) or strums out the chords on guitar. But when you talk about guitar player noted for their lead guitar work, and soloing on guitar that contribute is a bit different almost independent of songwriting. They don't start off with a guitar solo and build a song around it. The guitar solo is an add on, worked out later. The three alumni of the Yardbirds are for lead guitar work. Jeff Beck didn't write pop songs people identify like EC. But imho he is more interesting guitar player.

I listen to music mainly on YouTube. I like the side bar recommendations from YT, which Spotify have. But the one advantage to YouTube are the videos of live performances and interviews.

I heard the Les Paul & Mary Ford version of this song a hundred times. I can honestly tell you that Jeff Beck does the lead guitar part perfectly -- note for note. His timing and articulation is immaculate.

There're literally no more than 10 Jimi Hendrix songs on youtube (studio version). The rest are covers or live performances with a bad audio quality. While all Clapton's albums are on youtube. He's very active in that kind of things. He controls Cream's social media and half of the messages posted are about him being GOD and the greatest guitarist of all time. Yes, there're more in spotify, but depending on the country you have more or less tracks avaible, and I don't have spotify premium. For example I can only listen to 4 tracks from Electric Ladyland.
