I've listened to I Wanna Be Your Dog. (Is that by The Stooges, right?)

I've heard about The Wind Cries Mary being a good song so I'll listen to it for sure.
If you like Little Wing, maybe you like this cover by Eric Clapton with Derek And The Dominos:

I didn't like it at first but now I think it's ok, it's kinda different. The orinigal one is much better obviously. I just thought it'd be interesting.
P.S. When I opened this poll I was about 98% sure Clapton was going to win and Beck wasn't going to get any votes!

That sounds very meh to me, sorry. I think it takes the magic out of the song; Jimi's guitar playing is fantastic and this sounds bland in comparison, and the vocals also lack the beauty and intimacy of Jimi. Interesting to hear though

Thought the same about the vocals, too. Eric's trying too hard and the song loses its original...vibe/feel? But I think the guitar work is pretty decent, though.
By the way, between Beck, Clapton and Page who would you choose?

I don't know. I guess Page because I know him best. Like I said I always dismissed Clapton, and I have only a vague knowledge and liking of Beck, but I went though a Zeppelin phase for a bit when I was a teen

Same for everything except that I've listened to one Jeff Beck album once so I don't even have an opinion on him. I hate a lot about Zeppelin but what I love is unassailable and a lot of that is Page's monster riffs.

See you didn't mention the name of the song in the OP, so I thought you were talking about Superstition. I still stand by my opinion that I said earlier:

I'm not sure if you agree on this, but you mention that many of his famous tunes were written by others.
I don't mind if People Get Ready wasn't written by Jeff Beck. He's a guitar player, and I really like his guitar playing on the song. He never wastes a note.

Songwriting and guitar playing are apple to oranges comparison. Jeff Beck can play more emotionally than EC and Page imho. EC wrote some decent songs but he jump the shark with "Cocaine" -- literally/figuratively. Page came up with a lot of (other people's) ideas.
