Hey ER, since you like "Femme Fatale" I wonder what you would think of Nico's first solo album. Nico's subsequent albums are darker, but Chelsea Girls is more melodic and chamber-folky. "These Days" is one of my favorite songs of all time.

OK, thank you!
By the way, I like the song you posted.

A lot of people will concentrate on one or two favourite songs from albums and never listen to the rest. It's no crime. Listen to what you enjoy. The only thing I would say is that if you like a song by a band you may - not always the case but you may - like others on the album. Of course, it also happens that that song may be the best/only good song on the album, and listening to the album then disappoints you. Entirely up to you: again, I'm no VU fan. No ma'am, not me.

As far as ELO goes, in order I feel the best albums are:
Out of the Blue
El Dorado
Time
Discovery
A New World Record
Secret Messages
Face the Music
Zoom
Xanadu (split with Olivia Newton-John, otherwise it would be higher, but still worth listening to).

(I can't remember/am too lazy/busy to check if I already posted some of these, so bear with me if so)

Spoiler for ELO tracks:

C'mon, TH - you know you love the VU. Let's sing along together their #1 hit, "Heroin": "IIIIIIIIII have made, the big decision. IIIIIIII'm gonna try TO NULLIFY MY LIFE!"

Nothing like a good singalong to lift our spirits.

I must be a very strange person because my two favorite bands are The Beatles and The Velvet Underground.

ELO are a lot of fun, good luck with that discography.

If you want some stuff in the same general arena but with a different vibe, I'd suggest giving the Alan Parsons Project and Ambrosia a spin. Great examples of diverse and interesting pop-oriented songwriting.

Nah sorry, the VU can FU.

@ Anteater: Good call on the APP though I'd go for something a little more commercial from them maybe for Eleanor, like
Spoiler for APP songs:
