They're native English speakers, that's the problem.

I can steer you towards good prog bands if you're interested.
Oh and if you like Marillion try Fish's solo work too.

hahaha thanks
I've got a question. There're 2 old famous bands, from which I've only heard 1 song and I'd like to know what do you think about them. I'm talking about Badfinger and ELO (Electric Light Orchestra).

I'm a big ELO fan. First band I was ever into. What do you want to know about them? Best albums, in my opinion: Out of the Blue, El Dorado, Discovery, A New World Record

I don't think I've heard a single song from either of those bands actually. I've heard of ELO, I should give them a listen I guess

I've only heard Don't Bring Me Down which is one of the most catchy songs ever imo.
And from Badfinger I've heard Baby Blue and also that the 2 main songwriter killed themselves being very young.

In the States Day After Day is (was?) an AOR staple and Without You is (was?) an AM radio staple but it was a cover of their version by Harry Nilsson that took off. Even Baby Blue really only shines during the chorus.

In my opinion, Ms. Rigby, Badfinger is an unrewarding rabbit hole.

ELO on the other hand have lots of great songs. I only knew their hits until we got into a big discussion about them on here a couple years back and I was very surprised by how much more they had to offer.

Trollheart (who posted above) and Ori are our go-to experts.

Without You was by Badfinger? I didn't know that, always heard the Mariah Carey version.
I agree that Baby Blue only shines during the chorus. I was asking because The Beatles had said wonderful things about them, Paul McCartney had even written a song for them and produced it, but they had a tragic ending, that seemed strange to me.
And I thought ELO was the band of Olivia Newton-John (Xanadu) lol
I'll probably listen to them, they seem to be catchy but interesting at the same time, and they don't seem to be ultra experimental.
