i'm personally not a fan of Led Z but i think there ok. i havnt heard any of there albums but there is a couple of songs off the new 1 i like

I Think The Went Slowly Downhill After Houses Of The Holy.

The New Live Album Is Quite Good. Better Than Song Remains The Same In My Opinion

I dont really like them, but I also havent heard alot by them

ok ppl. just done a search, and couldn't find a thread on Led Zep! How could this be overlooked?!?

I've heard people talk about how they're overrated, nothing could me more ignorant when it comes to music that that statement. They singlehandedly changed the course of music by influencing so many great bands, and the sheer talent, of every member is simply astonishing. It's so rare in a band that every single member has mastered their instrument. Alhtough I personally think that hendrix is the best guitarist of all time, page is the only one who in my view can be argued as the best aside from hendrix. He mixes amazing talent to unbelievable style.

John was an awesome drummer... one of the best, definitely \m/

Led Zeppelin II. An album that anyone with even a passing interest in rock music should own. That is a fact.

Quite simply the most important band in the history of rock music, the second highest selling band EVER depsite little media coverage and even less advertising and commerical airplay. They survived, grew, and flourished, all through the word of mouth of their fanbase, without resorting to releasing singles for a quick sell and instant hype, without, at any point, compromising their vision be it in running orders or liner note artwork, they were the blueprint for any rock band that has ever followed their lead.

And they were local boys too. :)

I love zeppelin. Their so good. I love almost everything they've ever done. Some of their acoustic songs are good to throw on and mellow out to, and some of their other songs (Rock And Roll, Black Dog) are good to throw on to "rock out" to.

I like them! I grew up listening to them because my mom was a huge fan.

Fave is No Quarter personally. Top, top band though.

I've got I, II, III, IV, Physical Graffiti and Houses of the Holy, and then the 4cd complete recordings box set as well, plus the "How the West Was Won" triple live cd as well.

Personally I prefer II and IV over Physical Graffiti, but that's not to say I'm not a big fan of PG.

i'll agree with any positive comments about Led Z

my favorites would have to be black dog, cashmere, dazed and confused, the immigrant song, and the best of alll STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

anyone seen the 20 minute version of dazed and confused on the dvd? page uses a violin bow, unbelievable, just because of that one song on the dvd its one of my favorite zeppelin songs. other faves, immigrant song (i'm part icelandic, so i'm biased) and heartbreaker. have to give ramble on a mention too, ok there are too many to choose from now.

wouldnt it be easier to ask are there any not led zeppelin fans out there? who doesnt like this band? if there is someone out there, please explain how you cannot likie them, for what reasons etc

Ok man, let the old man have a crack at it. Favorite Zeppelin song. Back in the day we would smoke out then rock out to Zeppelin II and Physical Graffiti most often. Kashmire and Ramble On. There are great tunes on all there albums. (I know I said albums, now you know I am oldish. Don't tell anyone man.) I have been collecting music for 25 years now and have 99% of everything Zeppelin has done, including a vinyl bootleg album where they spell it LED ZEPPLIN. I should sell it on ebay man. Anyway I would have to say... John Bonham drum roll please, Over The Hills and Far Away off Houses of the Holy...scope it out baby! Peace Twist

What does Zoso mean?
 

Zoso is like, one of the symbols of Led Zeppelin and i never really knew what the hell it meant. Can someone help me out?

The symbols were chosen by the band as they didn't wish to have their names credited in any way on the album sleeve for IV. Each of them created the symbols from scratch, although some people think that Jimmy Page lifted the Zoso symbol from an ancient Icelandic pagan faction, but it's never been proven.
