Love 'em or loathe them, they are still the yardstick by which you have to measure other rock bands - and pretty damn few come anywhere near them in any respect.

Why don't you take a good look at yourself and describe what you see,
And Baby, Baby, Baby, do you like it?

I dont use them as a "yardstock to measure other rock bands" So thierfore you are wrong.

stonedpath 04-30-2005 06:32 PM

pastor of muppets 04-30-2005 07:48 PM

Whatever

All I'm saying is they left a monumental pile of music widely regarded as classics of the genre, and are still influential today - they were the biggest most succesful rock band of their time, and they got there without ever having released a single. Few acts will ever measure up to that grade of talent and/or success.

If we're getting picky here just for the sake of posting anyway, that should be 'yardstick', and 'therefore', as in: 'therefore you are wrong' . . . And if you must use giant boldface in your sig, you might want to run a spell check over that at the same time too, so as not to undermine any point you might have been trying to make by looking like a twat who can't spell.

Soundgardener 05-14-2005 11:32 AM

My favorite songs from Led Zeppelin 1 besides "Dazed and Confused", which I have already mentioned are the following:

"Baby I'm Gonna Leave You", "Communication Breakdown", "I Can't Quit You Baby", and "How Many More Times"

All of the songs on the first are classics though...

High King Tigernmas 05-14-2005 12:06 PM

'The Battle Of Evermore' and 'The Immigrant Song' are their best, followed by 'Ramble On' and 'Thank You'...

FistfulOfSky 05-14-2005 06:01 PM

is there such thing as the best???????????????

its Led Zeppelin!, there is no bad!

but if i must...

stairway to heaven
dazed and confused
you shook me
black dog
immigrant song
i can't quit you baby
whole lotta love
the girl i love she got long black wavy hair
that's the way

and again i must say, Stairway to Heaven

but hey like i said there is no bad when it comes to Led Zeppelin.
they rock. peace,

CAUSE I FOUND ALL THAT SHIMMERS IN THIS WORLD IS SURE TO FADE. AWAY. AGAIN.

Two words though seriously.
Keith Moon.

Ha.

I'm really sorry snickers, but it was about 15 minutes after i made that post that Keith Moon was the drummer of The Who. I shoulda' PMed you.
Jimmy Page was a harcore Heroin addict for many years. In fact, b efore Bonham died of asphyxiation most critics speculated that it would be Page overdosing (which he had non-fatally before) that would cause the bands demise.

PhishFood 06-12-2005 07:38 PM

Yeah Why the hell'd you say keith moon?

I always get the two mixed up in my head. Both are power drummers for progressive70's rock bands. Both died of drug/alcohol abuse.

<<<>>> 06-12-2005 07:43 PM

everyone did back then !

Ha.

Oh, and my exact post was: "Uh, Keith Moon....Hello?"
That's all.

PhishFood 06-12-2005 07:46 PM

alright, Everyhing's excuseable

Trauma 06-12-2005 08:28 PM

^
Ah damn, lol.
You're right.
I suppose I got the two mixed up in my head as well.
I COULD just edit my post and make him John Bonham but I'll just delete it altogether.
Didn't Moon overdose on alcohol though anyway?
That's a drug...
Damnit..........
I feel so stupid, it was easy to mix up the two drummers.
But no, lol it's not just the two drummers anymore.
Now I'm thinking Led Zeppelin-Pete Townshend and The Who- Robert Plant.
$hite. :banghead:
Okay, rant over.

Keith Moon ODed from a prescription drug overdose. John Bohnam choked on his own vomit as a result of drinking too many screwdrivers.

PhishFood 06-12-2005 08:50 PM

+yop... oh and what you should be thinking is LEd Zeppelin-Roger Daltry The Who- Robert plant, If you want to screw it up right.

Trauma 06-12-2005 08:56 PM

Dude holy ****, I'm so confused, other than the fact that Townshend didn't sing.
I didn't want to screw it up at all Phish, I know Daltry is vocals k?!
I'm just going to write my thoughts down..
The Who /////Led Zeppelin
Keith Moon /////John Bonham
Pete Townshend //////Robert Plant

Bonham-Choked on vomit after alcohol; alcoholic
Moon-Perscription overdose

Okay I'm good now.

PhishFood 06-12-2005 09:01 PM

Yay!
