yep this forum is mostly for hardcore hard rockers and metal heads........so stay out

Anyways, also try Wishbone Ash extremely melodic and at times very tranquil and relaxing. BTW I`m a huge AOR fan and love it just as much as hard rock, so I have an ear for the melodic stuff.

Oh, I like some metal songs quite a bit when I'm in the mood.

Wishbone Ash. Check. I'll try that.

I had to look up AOR...album-oriented rock. Are you thinking of a group like Def Leppard, who I assume chose their name as a spoof of Led Zeppelin's? I much prefer the sound of Def Leppard to that of Led Zeppelin, although I prefer Led Zeppelin's subject matter.

I know Free's "All Right Now" and like that. I'll see if there are other songs of theirs that I know.

Noooooooo, when I say AOR I should`ve said SOFT ROCK Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Journey, Toto, Boston etc I love this sound, most people on this forum don`t sadly.

As for Def Leppard well they`re about the most melodic and lightest metal act you`d probably find anyway.

As for Free, the debut album Tons of Sobs, Fire and Water, Heartbreaker are the three albums to listen to.

Heh...I didn't think Def Leppard even counted as metal.

I like some Eagles, Journey, and Boston songs, and a few Fleetwood Mac songs. Much better than Led Zeppelin's!

Fleetwood Mac, Eagles and Boston are fine with me.

Haven't heard enough of Toto or Journey to have an opinion.

But generally, not a sub-genre I like much.

If you just like the melodic stuff mentioned above, you`ll never like the rawer style rock of Led Zeppelin, just give up the ghost on them.

BTW what do you think of Pearl Jam? A hard rock band that incorporates the softer as well as the harder elements of rock? A modern half-way house between soft and hard rock.
