They're not. As far as I know there is no "American Stones", only bands that are highly influenced by them like the Black Crowes for example. I'm not sure if Aerosmith even rates in the latter category as they seem more influenced by Led Zeppelin, to me anyway.

I'll take the toxic twins and company all day long. It's not that I don't like the Stones (Paint it Black is awesome). I also had more exposure to Aerosmith.

I'm very partial to the Stones; but as for Aerosmith, one of my most-played albums of all time is Live! Bootleg which is raw and sloppy and their "punk" record.
