The Beatles. I think its a more generational thing. Lots of older people will say the beatles while most younger will say Lec Zeppelin becvause theres a sort of classic rock revival thing going on right now. Its easy to write off the Beatles as just some group that the media hyped up but you still have to look at what they did. They absolutly came from no where and stunned everyone who ever heard them. No matter who you are I can almost garuntee everyone likes at least one beatles song. As opposed to Zepplin who many people have never heard at all. And for good reason they just arnt as good a band as the beatles were. The beatles put out hit after hit after hit for longer than most bands are even around. They went everywhere met everyone and did it all. But I also agree that this is kind of an irelevent poll because they were from diferent times and played different styles of rock and roll. I think a more interesting poll would be Pink Floyd vs. Led Zepplin.
