they're great ...

Time of the season - Care of cell 44 - She's not there
and their Summertime version is my favorite one.

Aha, a Zombies thread, I knew there'd be one!

I've said how brilliant I think Odyssey and Oracle is before. Fans of the album should definitely hunt down the 30th anniversary edition - big improvement with the sound quality.

As for the rest of the stuff, I just remembered I've had Begin Here on my hard drive for months and still not listened to it. I expect good things!

I recently picked up Odyssey and Oracle and was a little disappointed. I thought I would take to it like Love's Forever Changes (which, I quite like!) I am familiar with the Zombie's "hits", but O&O sounded like the Cowsills on acid to me, and it was hard to take seriously. A little "dated" (imo). Forever Changes has held up better over time, to my ears anyway.

I know its weird, but I actually like the sound quality a little rough around the edges with this album. I think its because like to hear it how it sounded when it first came out, giving me a more genuine experience, but thats just me. I would love to get Odyssey and Oracle on LP, but I have to get a player first! haha.

Both are great albums. Odyssey and Oracle gets better with each listen, IMO.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

As Sidewinder said, Odyssey and Oracle gets better with each listen. It did click instantly with me though - those piano chords and harmonies on Care Of Cell 44 pretty much drew me into it from the first time I heard it.

I don't have many albums on vinyl that I haven't long since flogged for a bit of cash, but Odyssey and Oracle is one I'd love to hear in LP format, just to see if it's true how much better it sounds than the CD versions.

Yeah they're pretty good. I like "Tell Her No" and "She's Not There"

Have you heard Love "Forever Changes"? I think you would like this album also.

I've downloaded by mistake Begin Here last week, I really liked it. I didn't expect that, seeing the worse album Artwork.

Very different from O&O, reminded me more of the early Beatles albums.

Holy ****. I just got Odyssey and Oracles today and it is the most amazing album I have heard in awhile. I have heard Time of the Season about 1000 times, but never recognized the band.
