I'm definately a big Beatles fan so I would have to choose them over Rolling Stones. I've never been into the stones, the beatles had better lyrics than the stones in my opinion.

The Beatles. I see the Rolling Stones in the same way I see AC/DC. Good rock bands which pump out good music. But not amazing music. And repetitive as well.
The Beatles had a lot of diversity.

People can say what they will about AC/DC, but at least they never sold out. They started out playing hard rock in the seventies, and they're still playing hard rock. The Stones sold out after the early seventies, recording a lot of lightweight pop crap. AC/DC hasn't done much of interest since the eighties, but they never stooped to recording pop tunes.

The stones new album is pretty rock, and i don't know what you have to "stoop" to make pop tunes.
And the beatles made pop. Why are they remarkable and diverse and the stones sold out? I'm still with the stones.

The Beatles were very diverse for many reasons, including genre experimentation, the number of instruments used and simply the musicians' creativity.

The Beatles went from "Love Me Do" to "Helter Skelter". The Stones went from "Paint It Black" to "Miss You". The Beatles evolved and rose to new heights, while the Stones devolved and sunk to new lows. I'm a huge fan of the early Stones. Their "Hot Rocks 1964-1971" is still one of the best "greatest hits" compilations in Rock history. It is still the biggest selling recording they've ever had. Unfortunately, since the mid-seventies their output has been inconsistent and unimpressive overall.
