And also, if you hate on bands BECAUSE of their media exposure, it's the same thing, you're letting the media influence your opinion. Theres no way you'd consider The Beatles and Stones the worst bands ever if they were just obscure bar bands that you discovered one day, but no they happen to be the two most popular bands on earth. And do you think it's cool just to inherently write off what is popular without even judging it fairly? Well it's not. I'm not knocking your taste, a lot of the artists you mentioned are in my favorites as well. I have a problem with your reasoning. |

I made a mistake, that happens. I'm not even talking about spelling, I'm talking about your use of phrases, you're not making any sense, you call The Beatles the worst band ever, and yet you say their music doesn't bother you and you like John Lennon, so that's entirely inconsistant. I know you're full of crap man, but you're not even faking it very well. |

There's plenty of times when I hear a song and I don't really have an opinion of it either way. After hearing it maybe 50/60 on radio/tv/whatever times I find sometimes they really grate. So there's a perfectly valid example of me hating a song primarily because of the media.

It's not like the band decides how many times their songs get played on the radio.

I don't see what that has to do with anything.

Whatever. I admit, and I know some assh*le is gonna bring up the indie/pitchfork thing, that certain kind of fans make a band I already dislike even more annoying. But they never make me hate a band.
The media can never make me hate a band, a good band is a good band and a bad band is a bad band and that's that, it'll never change because of what the media does, I don't care about radio play, I still love Zep and Floyd no matter how overplayed they are on the radio, the key for me has been simple, turn the radio off or change the station. |
